The Detroit-based festival MoPop just announced their 2018 lineup for the two-day summer festival

MoPop 2018, a festival that started only six years ago, will be at West Riverfront Park in downtown Detroit on July 28 to 29. Featuring some of the biggest names in music in the heart of Detroit, MoPop will bring pop music fans together on the warm summer afternoon.

The 22 band lineup will be split between the two days and across two stages during the event. In the past years, sets were arranged on two stages with no overlapping performances so festival-goers can see every artist. Festival-goers can also enjoy a showcase of Detroit restaurants, food trucks, breweries, local crafts, and a tented arcade featuring classic video games.

Now six years later and with a growing reputation in the concert industry, it will be the fourth year at the West Riverfront Park location after two years at Freedom Hill Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights, Mi. The increased budget allowed this year line up to attract larger artists.

“We always start off with our dream list. We’ve already got our 2019 list going,” said co-director and talent buyer Jason Rogalewski. “[MoPop] is definitely more on the radar of agents and bands, and they’re reaching out ahead of time. Some that didn’t work out this year are already talking about next year.”

The festival has also grown a loyal fan base. Early bird tickets sold-out before the lineup was announced. The trust that fans have in MoPop is on a level great than any other due to their history of amazing lineups.

Crowds have been growing with the festival as well. Last year attendance hit 25,000 and the MoPop team hops to pass the 30,000 mark by the festival this July. That goal would qualify as a sellout of the weekend based on the park’s capacity.

General admission tickets can be purchased for $99.50 for a two-day pass and $75 for single-day starting at 10 am Friday, March 9 at MoPopFestival.com. Tickets can be purchased without fees at brick-and-mortar locations listed online. Children 12 and under will be admitted for free when accompanied by a ticket holder.
